The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission voted recently to permanently ban all fox pens.
The rule approved by the FWC permanently prohibits the chasing of foxes and coyotes with dogs within an enclosure in Florida. The FWC had considered the issue for more than a year, and the practice was temporarily prohibited in February. I so enjoyed the photo of Poe, the Thief at the stirrup cup table, as years ago when hosting the stirrup cup for our Old Chatham Hunt Club, in Columbia County, New York, my table was devoured by the pack of visiting hounds for our joint meet, where my late husband was MFH.
